Great piece of Technology
The iGrill 3 is the perfect addition to my Genesis II grill. Takes all the guess work out of achieving the perfect grilling session. I have grilled a whole chickens, steaks, beef roast and a pork shoulder to our preferred doneness plus the propane tank level sensor is a plus. Nice to be able to put the meat on, close the lid and just walk away. The Bluetooth range is good enough that I can grill on my patio under my deck and monitor the grill on my iGrill app on my iPhone from my living room, one floor up. Great piece of technology.

    Must-have with a Genesis II
Works well, app is not perfect but acceptable. Range is enough to reach the kitchen from outside the veranda (25ft/8m). Should consider getting this if you are getting a compatible BBQ (although to be honest, you can probably get this to work with any BBQ - it just might not clip on as nicely)

Really great product on my old Genesis (with effort)
I installed the iGrill 3 on my 1st generation Genesis. Cut a hole with my dremel to mount it. The propane tank sensor mounted perfectly as Weber uses the same tank hook in the Genesis II. Works perfectly. FYI, Bluetooth disconnects if you get to far away with your phone. Steaks, Salmon, Italian Sausage grilled to perfection, so far

Pretty slick - but could be better
Bluetooth distance was a bit of a bummer. WiFi would be a LOT better. One nice surprise is that the app showed up on my Apple watch and so I could just look at my watch to monitor all temp probes. That was slick

Thanks for your feedback! To help extend Bluetooth range, we recommend periodically resetting your iGrill 3 either before or after a cook. To reset your iGrill 3, hold down the power button until you hear a heap, then head to your phone and unpair the iGrill 3 from your settings. Thanks again!

This came with the Weber Spirit II S-310 Combo and I love it! It was easy to set up. I downloaded the App to my iPhone and iPad, but I mostly use the iPad. I can leave the iPad at the back door (within Bluetooth range of the grill), and still carry and use my phone, and not worry about dropping signal, as I move around my house. Since setting it up, I have used this every day; even on drizzly days (and expect to use it in the snowy Winter). I can turn on the tank and light the grill in a few seconds, and then go back in the house. They recommend heating to 500F before each use. So, I leave a meat probe on the bun rack. The App tells me when it is 500F. I then take out the prepared food, insert the meat probe, and when the App shows the meat is half way from start temp to finished temp, I go out and turn it over. No standing there. No pushing, cutting, or squeezing the meat to see if it is done. The food no longer is undercooked, overcooked, or looking like it was tortured with a knife and fork. I use to stick with simple meats (i.e. burgers, steaks, hot dogs), but now feel comfortable doing fish and poultry. I see they make the iGrill Thermometer Pro Ambient Probe (Model 7212). Not sure I need it for grilling, but would be a nice addition for cooking.

I've always wanted a Weber grill! I had heard from friends about the quality of the grills and the cooking capabilities. When this package, grill, cover, brush and IGrill 3 thermometer became available - I jumped on it! Starting with assembly - the grill parts were well packed and everything needed was there! No missing nuts bolts or parts. The assembly manual is straight forward - pay attention to the parts in the labeled bags and the assembly steps to avoid mistakes. I must say, the quality of the parts and fit is most impressive. I can't remember a product assembly that went as smooth as this one. All the holes matched up! No misalignment - no extra drilling needed. Another feature I appreciate - the tank balance system. It is very straight forward and quickly identifies how much propane you have left in the tank. See the photo. After assembly, I seasoned the grill as specified. All 3 units on full for 20 minutes. I let the grill cool down and then prepared our first meal - Pork steaks - see the photos. I love the width of the grill marks made on the food. The grill bars lend themselves to proper searing of meats. After searing both sides, cooked for 5 minutes and Voila - juicy flavorfull pork steaks! With the quality of this unit - I can see many happy grilling adventures for years to come!

I would first like to point out that you must put the probes all the way into the meat. I keep seeing people trying to only use the tip of the thermometer and this will not give an accurate reading because the probes will pick up the temperature inside the grill and give you an temp reading of your meat much higher than it actually is. This product works very well for big cuts of meat, however for thinner cuts, I found that the temperatures end up becoming very inaccurate. With average sized, hamburgers and steaks, I kept having problems with my probes picking up the grill temperature and telling me my meat was about 40 degrees warmer than it actually was. I was actively trying to keep the probe in the center, but it just didn't work out well. It really became an exercise in frustration. I had so many problems, I may have actually been sent a defective unit. Every time I turn the unit on, (even when I don't have any probes connected), it tells me that I have a probe connected in the third port. There is no probe connected and it tells me is at 300 degrees even when the grill is off. I can't get rid of the phantom third probe even when I reset the unit. I attached a screenshot showing it. If you have some of the old installation instructions, please note that the instructions are different if you are installing it on a Spirit II grill. I attached a screenshot showing where it installs on this grill since it differs from the instructions included. I think this product has a lot of bugs. Your phone connects to the igrill device with bluetooth, but when I tried to go into my kitchen to prep side dishes, my phone would lose connection to the igrill. I would say this is about 15 feet away. I have a pixel phone. It makes the usefulness of the product a little lacking. There is also no external display on the igrill unit. You have to use your phone to see the temp.

The iGrill 3 system is a nice addition to the Sprit 2 or Sprit 3 grills. It is connected via Bluetooth to a smart phone or tablet that’s operating on Android or iOs. It relays the grills temperature probe information, remaining propane in the tank and has a built in timer. What you get in the box: iGrill 3 hub unit that replaces the Sprit 2 or Sprit 3 grills badge plate. Two probes, one red and one yellow, with probe raps for storage. A battery pack, battery pack holder and three AA batteries. Remote propane tank level reader. Connection cables. The iGrill 3 worked very well for us. It connected via Bluetooth easily and remained connected without any drop outs. The two temperature probes worked well and were just as accurate as a standard meat thermometer. The propane tank level reader seemed to be fairly accurate. The iGrill 3 is a welcome addition to this grill, it takes much of the guesswork out of cooking a steak or chicken. Everything needed to cook any cut of meat is now right in your hand. The timers provide a great reminder so there's no overcooked or burnt meals. The iGrill 3 also helps to keep the heat in the grill since there's no need to open the cover. This is a nice addition to the grill that takes some of the pressure off the cook since you don't need to be right at the grill to monitor the meats temperature.

This is one accessory that I consider a “must have” item if you have a Weber Genesis or Spirit model grill. Of all the various types of thermometer gadgets that I’ve had, this one far outperforms them all. The various doneness settings come out exactly as programmed every time. There’s alarms for when it’s nearly ready and then again when it’s done. I’m amazed every time I cut into my steak at how perfectly cooked it is. If only I could take the credit for that! A side benefit is that using the probes helps keep you from the temptation of flipping the meat too often and too many times. That’s because you have to pull them out every time you flip and then reinsert them. Now, I’m developing a better sense of timing by using the temperature to let me know when to flip just once. That’s especially important when grilling steaks to keep their juices in. This is probably a temporary glitch, but the installation instructions are for the Genesis models only and need to be updated to include the new Spirit line of Weber grills. As a result, I had to figure it out for myself where to mount the battery pack on my Spirit II E-210 grill. Hopefully, they’ll correct that soon. The last step, connecting it to your phone, is very simple and the Bluetooth works great. This is an essential item, and not so much an optional accessory, if you want to make grilling easier and to get perfect results every time.

This review is for the Weber iGrill 3 App-Connected Thermometer (model # 7204), which I got a chance to check out in conjunction with the Weber Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill. Installation was fairly simple; I took the existing nameplate badge off of the grill and placed the iGrill 3 into the hole. Clipped right into place, no problems. The iGrill uses a battery pack and has a tank scale (AA cells, included in the package) and a wire connection runs from the iGrill to the battery pack. The battery pack attaches to the grill by clipping into two holes in the grill table (some grill models offer different mounting spots). Two probes come with the iGrill and it will support a total of four probes (which can be purchased separately). An app is available for your smartphone or tablet (I have an Android phone) and the iGrill connects to the phone using Bluetooth. I had a solid connection up to perhaps 30 feet away. Of course Bluetooth is dependent not only on the radio in the iGrill but the quality of the smartphone as well, and if there are any obstructions in the line-of-sight between the two devices. Weber claims a range up to 150 feet, but I haven’t tried it at that distance. The app shows the temperature of each probe independently, can be set with timers and alarms, and shows the percentage of propane left in the tank. The Boss got out her meat thermometer and check the reading on that with the reading on the iGrill app and deemed them “close enough” to work with. A note on the probes themselves – the pointed probe slides into chicken or steak easily but you’ll want to be careful pulling them out when the meat is done. We’ve not been removing the probes to flip the meat over and have had no issues. The small plastic protector that covers the wire-to-probe connection isn’t finger friendly – it gets pretty hot. The probes are not dishwasher safe. The device itself is designed to be permanently left on the grill, but Weber does recommend having a grill cover. The batteries are well protected and the pack dismounts from the mounting plate for changing the AA’s when necessary. The iGrille is handier than I expected – you can keep an eye on the temperature without being at the grill and set timers to remind you to check the food. If you’ve got a compatible grill I’d recommend giving this thing a try. The Boss (who isn’t really into gadgetry) thinks this device is a good concept and is executed well. I can’t give a higher recommendation than that. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on the iGrill 3. HTH Regards, Jim

You get everything you need to install the Weber iGrill in your Weber grill. The installation was fairly simple, and the App installed quickly. It takes a little getting use to the App's features, but the help guides are a great assistance. The thermometer does a good job recording your meat temperature accurately. There are 4 spaces for four separate thermometers. This kit came with 2 to start off with. I like the fact that you can check the temperature without having to open the lid and loose your heat build up. Great idea and great product from Weber.

I have been using iGrill thermometers for a few years now and love them, but the new iGrill3 goes above and beyond anything I have used before. First off, I love that these can be attached straight into the new Weber grills. I have the Spirit II, and it becomes one unit. They are very easy to install, and only take aboit 10 minutes to complete. After you get it hooked up, just download the app, and start cooking. The app is very simple tobuse, and allowsyou to cook up to four meats at the same time on this. The unit comes with two probes, so you will need to purchase the other two separately. You can set all your required temps straight from the app, and it will even set off an alarm one tour desired temp is reached. Every time I have ever used this, my chicken, beef and pork and anything else I have cooked came perfect. Temps are spot om, and they even give you a chart to automatically pre-program tour desired temps. It even has memory to store the temps that you set up during your last cook. I absolutely love iGrill, and highly recommend it to anyone looking to control temperature for the perfect meal.

This Weber i3 Bluetooth Thermometer is outstanding when used in conjunction with the Weber Spirit II E-310 3-burner propane gas grill. It makes app controlled grilling super easy and delivers excellent results. Installing the components is easy enough but the manual differs from actuality when installing the battery pack. An email to Weber support to query the matter was responded to promptly with photos and instructions on where the battery pack actually resides. They even offered to call me and talk me through the procedure but that was not necessary once they had clarified where the part fitted. The Weber iGrill app provides a simple interface to select the type of food to be cooked, to what extent it should be cooked, based on internal temperature, and that is all that is required to set up the grilling. Tell the app’ to start the monitoring and it takes care of the rest. There are also timers that can be added, for example, to remind one when to turn over a steak. These timers can be saved too for future use. The cooking can be monitored via the app at any time and as the final few minutes of cooking approaches alerts are sent to tell the cook and alarms sound when the cooking is complete. For the first use of this amazing technology I cooked two thick steaks and a mushroom based side dish. Everything cooked perfectly! Now, where can I obtain another two temperature probes?

This iGrill 3 LED Thermometer is an easy install on your existing Weber grills that are compatible as they have the holes taped already making it an easy project you can complete and set up in minutes. The only tool needed is a Phillip head screwdriver to remove the plug/plate and then snap in the Weber iGrill body and screw it in place. No other steps require, no additional tools. Once you have followed the easy instructions of the installation you only need to download the app to your smartphone or tablet “Weber iGrill” and you are then all set up. Pair the unit with a push of the button on the front of the unit and you are ready for the best grilling experience possible. This unit even tells you the level of your propane tank. Very impressive. The kit comes with two probes red/yellow so you have no trouble telling them apart when grilling more than one item. You can create your own custom presets for items just the way you love them. This unit monitors your masterpieces from start to finish. All you have to do is enjoy your perfectly cooked meal once the alarm notification signals to you that it is ready. Takes all the guess work out. No more overcooking or undercooking. This is the best. Very high tech. Grilling has come a long way since my early grilling years. This company Weber is the best. Everything they produce is quality and built to last. I am extremely happy and looking forward to warmer weather here in Pennsylvania to use my Weber Grill and this iGrill3 unit on a regular basis. I love it. Out of 1-10 rating I give this unit a 12+. Thanks Weber and Home Depot for providing quality products that are the best money can buy.

This is a really cool concept that I've never seen on a grill before! The unit came very nicely packaged and includes the module that basically plugs into the grill arm with a AAA battery pack that is mounted on one of the legs (hidden away very nicely). After you download the Weber iGrill app you push that main button on the iGrill unit and it wakes up, allowing you to pair it to your phone. Once connected and your included thermometer probes are plugged into the iGrill unit, you can see the temps of your steak, chicken, etc. while away from your grill. This is amazing and allows you to get that perfect temperature without having to constantly open the grill and guesstimate how close to done you are. The app also has a timer setting as well which is pretty handy. Overall, very cool and highly recommended!

If there’s one thing I dislike about outdoor grilling, it’s trying to judge when food is cooked to the satisfaction of others – rare, medium, well, etc. That’s why I was anxious to try this automated probe thermometer, which claims to guide the griller through the cooking process. This is a neat device. After inserting the temperature probes, it communicated with me via my smart phone, allowing me to set various parameters for grilling, including the category of food (meat, poultry, pork, fish etc), type of product (sirloin, chuck, etc), level of doneness, temperature of food, etc. and alerted me when the food was supposedly done. During the cooking process, I turned the food over after it reached the desired temperature and reinserted the probes to assure a thorough cooking. Unfortunately, the system did not work well in practice cooking hamburgers. When set to cook one burger to a medium doneness, and another to a well-done level, the results were disappointing. The burger that I set for cooking to medium, was declared ready when in fact it was only rare and the other burger which was set to well-done, was only medium-rare when the iGrill declared it was ready. There does not appear to be any way to re-calibrate the device to resolve this deficiency. Therefore, although the iGrill worked well to communicate the grilling process, particularly the internal temperature, it failed to help me conquer the one aspect of grilling I had difficulty with – getting the food done to the proper level of doneness. Perhaps this is related to the software, not sure. I did not test this process with other foods, at the time of this review but, hot dogs and hamburgs are probably the food most frequently grilled. A couple of other observations: 1. The “handles” of the probes get too hot to handle with bare hands, you will need cooking gloves to remove the probes. 2. The device also monitors the level of fuel in the tank, when fitted to a Weber grill having a tank scale, to help minimize disruptions or disappointments caused by running out of gas. 3. The Bluetooth communications worked flawlessly, and did not interfere with my smartphone’s other Bluetooth communications (i.e., an outdoor Bluetooth speaker that plays music stored on my smartphone). 4. The device comes with 2 temperature probes, but an additional 2 probes can be purchased to monitor up to 4 food items at a time (since every guest will have their own preference). Installation The installation of the device was a bit frustrating because the installation manual suggested certain steps that could not be accomplished on my Weber grill – for example, there was no mounting for the battery storage box under the right-side shelf as was indicated in both the printed instructions and the automated assembly instructions that I downloaded to my smartphone. I spent some time confounded by this, searching for a place to mount the battery box – it turns out there was a place to mount it under the grill itself, not the side shelf as was illustrated in the assembly instructions. Also, after completing the installation of the hardware, I could not determine where to connect the temperature probes to the iGrill Bluetooth device. It is amazing to me that this wasn’t clearly illustrated or described in any of the materials. After poking around a bit, I pulled at the panel of the iGrill device mounted to the side of the shelf and discovered there were probe outlets hidden behind the panel (see picture). I’m thinking, I can’t be the first person that is puzzled by this? Finally, the probes (which are essential) to the product operation, are wrapped around a small plastic tab (“probe wrap”) for storage – but where to store the probe wrap? My Weber grill had no built-in hook or holder for them, so I guess they’ll sit on the open exposed shelf under the grill where they will be exposed to the elements. Hopefully, I won’t forget where I parked them the next time I’m looking for them. Overall, this device didn’t quite accomplish the main thing I was attempting to do, cook my food to a specific doneness. There are also some practical considerations that may have been overlooked relative to assembly and use procedures, as well as probe storage considerations. Insofar as I couldn’t accomplish my main objective, I am not able to recommend this product to others

Exceptional Product that was SUPER EASY to install and use. We fired up our new grill and IGRILL 3 for the super bowl, even though the snow was falling in Michigan. The IGRILL thermometer worked perfectly and was up and running in minutes on my iPhone 6S Plus. The app was easy to install and follow with great features. The temperature probe worked perfectly especially since it was so cold outside, and I was able to watch the temp of my burgers from the warmth of my kitchen. The timer function works perfectly as well. The iGRILL is Bluetooth connected and came complete with batteries, installation instructions in print and on the app, as well as 2 meat probes that can function independently. We tried it out for the first time with burgers, but will certainly use it for larger pieces of meat in the coming warmer months. Everything worked as planned for Super Bowl Sunday.

        Poor Quality Probes
I received the grill 3 as a gift almost one year ago to the date. Both probes are now not working. I believe that I read in one of the reviews that there is a 2 year warranty. It would be great to understand how to get these replaced. I am not a big fan of the products simply because it is always dropping the connection to my phone. Sometimes once get the connection reestablished my food is beyond my cook temp. My son in-law owns a competitor grill and the connection is near dropped. For the amount of money spent for this product it should work and be reliable. For someone looking into this feature you might want to reconsider your options.

I got new grill and igrill 3. Worked perfectly first two times. Last couple of time temp reading was off.
