I originally wanted this for my extension cords. I like the cords with the lighted ends that let you know if you have power, but my cords don't have that. But I am not going to replace perfectly good cords, or replace the female ends, just to get that feature. But these lights solve that problem.
After I started using it, I though of some other used they are perfect for. They are great for where your sump pump or heat tape plugs in. You can tell at a glance if the outlet has power. If you get in the habit of checking it when you are in the area, it can save you from finding out the hard way that the breaker is tripped, or similar problems. Now I have to get more of them.

The only wall plug in our garage happens to be a GFI outlet and so our freezer is connected to it. By design, those outlets are quite sensitive to tripping so having a visual power On indicator for it would be a great idea. I installed this Yellow Jacket Adapter there as a quick and obvious reference for us anytime we’re in the garage. It’s larger, brighter and the orange is much easier to see than the faint power indicator bulb on the freezer door for giving us assurance in monitoring that the freezer is safely running.

This is a great single outlet adapter with a built-in lamp to show that the power is on to the outlet. The adapter plug is rated 15 amps, 125 volts and 1,875 watts and for indoor use only. Don't know how many times I have plugged in a tool or appliance to find it not working and unsure whether it is the tool/appliance our the outlet that is not functioning, this let's you know for sure to narrow down the issue. Everyone should have one in their toolbox.

Yellow Jacket 15 Amp Extension Cord Power Light Plug Adapter. I have a lot of extension cords that take a beating over the course of time. You never know if the thing is working or not. It is a real pain to find out that after you rolled out a 100 ft.cord only to find it has short. This will save me a lot of time. A must for every handyman and tool box. Lets you know easily if you have power at the source as well. No need to run and find the small appliance or breaker to check it. I wish I found this years ago.

These ad on plugs are a must have. They save all the guess on wether or not your cord or outlet have power. The just simply plug into either end of your extension cord or any power outlet. When it’s not powered it is a clear plastic plug, but when power is supplied it lights up a bright orange color. These plugs should be a must have for everyone who uses extension cords. I highly recommend them.

Neat little light plug in any outlet to see if there is power or use on extension cord with visual to see if you have power or not. Save time from having to go get tester to see if you have power. I like to use it on my freezer in the porch when I walk through I can look that way and see if I have power with just a glance. I have lost all my food before when a breaker blew and didn't catch it in time. Inexpensive tool that potentially save you hundreds.

Exactly what I was looking for. I have two exterior GFI outlets that I use with an extension cord around the yard. In the past I would plug something into one of them and never know if I had power or not. Sometimes the GFI breaker would trip and the equipment wouldn't work, so the question becomes is it the equipment, the extension or the breaker. Inevitably I had to walk back to the garage and check the GFI breaker. This adapter shows me whether the circuit is live or not (saving me a trip back to the garage). My extension cord has a light at the power end, so now I'll now very quickly whether the equipment has failed or not. I'll use this adapter with my extension cord on the outside of my house.
