A:  Yost replaced their forged FSV line with this cast ductile ADI line. At both this website and other large online retailers they just re-used the old FSV listing and updated the title and description with the new ADI vise specifics.

A:  this ADI vise is made in China. It replaces the FSV line which was made in Taiwan.

A:  FSV-6 (Forged Steel Vise) is made in Taiwan while supplies last. The next version will be renamed as ADI-6 and is made in China. ADI-6 is a vast improvement over the FSV-6 vise as FSV series needed to be welded together whereas the ADI series is a continuous casting, thus much stronger. Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) is equal to if not stronger than forged steel and meets ASTM A897, Grade 900, 90,000 psi tensile strength. Orders placed for ADI-6 on Home Depot as of 11/13/2018 will receive ADI-6 vise. The specifications (Jaw Width, Jaw Opening, Throat Depth and Pipe Capacity) all remain the same. The only changes are: COO = China, material of construction and improved clamping force.
