AnswerSlat width is approx. 1" inch - Distance is 6 inches apart - 11 slats on each side (22 all together). Unfortunately, There are no replacement parts that can be purchased separately.

AnswerWe do not suggest putting the box spring directly on the floor as it is meant to be put on top of a bed frame.

It feels very sturdy. It's not good for foam mattresses...

It feels very sturdy. It's not good for foam mattresses though, because instead of slats, it uses small bars to support the mattress, and I could feel them easily. But that's not a fault in the box spring.
