Natural LVT underlayment can be used in a glued down installation where the Natural LVT is adhered to the sub-floor and then the vinyl flooring is adhered to the Natural LVT.
Good question. No you do not need to prime over Natural LVT SG before laying your vinyl planks.
Natural LVT is an acoustical underlayment that is designed to be used under vinyl flooring. We have not tested it for this application. Typically thick rubber mats are used for under sport equipment.
This is about 39 mil in thickness.
No, it is not recommended for a porcelain tile.
No it will not have too much give. In fact Natural LVT SG was specifically formulated and engineered for Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring. You can therefore use Natural LVT SG with confidence for this application.
Natural LVT SG is 1mm thick as any thicker underlayment may increase the rick of the seams of the click vinyl floor to separate. This thin profile will cover minor subfloor imperfections but the subfloor must be flat. Any peaks or ridges must be removed to ensure the underlayment and flooring lay flat across the entire surface.
At this time, Natural LVT has not been approved by Home Depot for glue down installations, however, we are in discussions with Home Depot to get this approved in the near future.
The first thing is to determine whether the room you are installing your flooring in requires a moisture barrier (i.e., basement). If it does, adding a few inches of underlayment where it touches and extends up the wall will help ensure that moisture coming through the floor (usually concrete) will not enter into your room or wall assembly (The baseboard will be installed over the extended underlayment). We recommend this because it is not only a best practice, but it's also building code recommended. Make sure also that any punctures in the underlayment is taped over using sheathing tape to ensure there is a seamless barrier between the subfloor and the actual flooring.
Natural LVT SG underlayment will isolate the flooring from making direct contact with the subfloor but does not have an "R-value"
