Q:Does the housing (front) get to hot to touch?

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, it does get hot to the touch. Not hot enough to literally need medical aid, but ya, you really want to try to avoid touching the front. If you do touch it briefly, it is not hot enough to create burns. It is just hot.

      by|Jan 14, 2021

A:  Yes, it gets pretty hot on either the lower or higher settings, but the back lets out cooler air so it's safe to set up against something for support.

A:  Good fo heating up your feet or small area but will not heat up whole room. No built in timer or thermostat. Not too loud but not silent either.

A:  What in the world is a "Walt"? Maybe you could rephrase the question, Chruck...

              Answer This Question

A:  bvb, your question depends on room size, outdoor temp, insulation, and a dozen other factors. We're talking about a unit that puts out max heat the equivalent of a pricey blow-dryer for hair. It will do so reliably and non stop until it fails. I'm guessing that you want to put this somewhere to keep pipes from freezing. Please do not put this unit in a tightly enclosed space unattended. That could present a fire hazard, even at low settings. I'm happy with mine, but I use it to warm my garage in the Fall to work in it without shivering.

              by|Nov 12, 2020

A:  Search on HomeDepot for "Thermo Cube". It's something that plugs into an outlet, and you plug the heater into the Thermo Cube. Have the heater turned on, ready to heat. The Thermo Cube turns on at 35 degrees and turns off at 45 degrees.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Well, if you want. It's not waterproof. And unless you're talking a breezeway, there's not really a point. The heat will dissipate by the time it blows out. Heat rises. You need to use this in a room.

A:  Yes, but this would decrease the thermal efficiency. If you set it right next to you, it would be somewhat warming.

A:  Yes, it does turn off when it reaches temp. There's no thermostat, so I have a $10 digital thermostat/humidity reader from home depot in the room i use this in

A:  Yes. On the lower settings, it will calibrate itself and shut off when desired temp is reached.

A:  Yes, it heats up small and medium sized rooms pretty well. I think it would provide some warming effect even in a greenhouse.

A:  It works fine in an area of about 12 x 12 foot. It should be just fine for a small green house!

A:  No. It takes air in from the "back" and puts warmer air out the front. Y'also don't want hot stuff near anything that can burn.

A:  No, it has tip-over protection so if it were hanging, it would turn off as it would think it was tipped over.

A:  You might be able to 'jury rig' it somehow. I have included a picture of what the back of the unit looks like to give a visual. But keep in mind that this unit has a safety feature that if it is tilted either forward, back, or side-to-side the fan or heater will turn off. Hope that helps. Have a blessed day.
