A: Hi ken,
Yes, this is a very good roller for use on smooth surfaces and will give you a good, even finish. I would recommend you try a few test rolls to see how much product you load the roller with so that you can judge the best result for your project. Once you know that, it should be easy to make sure you have a nice application without any thin or thick spots. Hope this helps.

A: It is not recommended to use a roller cover to apply polyurethane as they can cause the finish to bubble. A high quality brush will be the best option. Thanks, thanks

A: I've never heard of clear polyurethane stain. If you mean clear polyurethane, then I would only use a very short nap roller if the poly is water based and I would roll it on thick and not too much rolling.

A: I've never used this type of roller for applying polyurethane. I used a 4 in x 1/4 in. Mohair roller to apply polyurethane to all my doors, painted cabinets and also as a protective coat on bare wood and never had a single bubble.

A: It is not recommended to roll out polyurethanes, as you get a much better finish by using a brush or pad. However this could be used for stain. Thanks.
