Q:Instead of anchoring this in, if there are no studs on either side, could you use construction adhesive to glue the back of the parameter to the wall?

A: Rough opening needs to be 10.5 in wide by 16.5 in tall... if you have a 16in on center, it will not fit..

A: You can screw it in between the studs if you build a frame with 2x4s. Depending on the setup, you just need to ensure you brace the drywall or the studs.
