Answer This Question
A: Hi Zock, thanks for the question. I'd recommend using a 6" roller with a 1/4" - 3/8" nap roller to roll all the areas you can on the door and a high-quality nylon brush for the areas that aren't easily rolled. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:Can this be used on MDO (not real wood) shiplap? If so, can I use this without a Primer first? I was told at Home Depot that this has excellent adhesion and probably didn't need to use Primer if we didn't. I'm not too confident with his knowledge though.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Daniel, Thanks for the question. It is recommended that new wood or MDO be primed before applying the Urethane Alkyd Enamel. Also, if the surface is very smooth, I'd recommend lightly scuff-sanding it to help with adhesion. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:Will this work on vinyl shutters?
by|Apr 24, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Robin, thanks for the question. You can use the Urethane Alkyd Paint for painting vinyl shutters, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Since the vinyl is smooth, I'd recommend priming them first with our Bonding Primer. It's designed to adhere to smooth, glossy surfaces. Also, when painting vinyl, you want to paint them a color similar or lighter to what they were already painted. If you use a darker color, it can attract more heat and may cause the shutters to warp, which could affect the adhesion of the paint. If you have more questions about your project, feel free to reach out to us directly; our customer care team is happy to help. -Ronald
