Q:Can someone please confirm it is OK to use a Broad speed control 72V with this fan. It is a shaded pole motor, so it should be OK, but the literature seems contradictory. - The Install Guide says in WARNING NOTE 7: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device. - However, the Spec Sheet says this Broan 72 speed Control is designed to be used with this fan: Controller Model 72V (Ivory)/72W (White) Electronic Variable Speed Control- 6 amp Thank you for your time. Q:Looks like the installation instructions show that the unit can be mounted on a slant with the pitch of the roof. Is that correct?

        Answer This Question

A:  The unit cannot be adjusted to compensate for the pitch or slope of a roof as with a wind turbine. As I recall, the manufacturer provided information regarding how to mount the unit and the recommended maximum amount of angle or slope of the roof where it is to be installed, perhaps from the manufacturer's website. I opted for the optional rheostat control switch instead of the thermal switch & found that it works very well. The unit is very quiet when in operation.

A:  Yes, it is. It can be mounted on a roof with a maximum pitch of 15/12.
