Q:This cooktop will be installed in quartz countertop. Is it possible to have drawers directly underneath and if so how far below the cooktop do they need to be?

Answer This Question
A: Hi there,
If your countertop is quartz, we would recommend having a professional countertop/cabinet installer install this cooktop for you as the material on the cooktop can easily be damaged. Also, you are able to install this cooktop above drawers but you need to leave at least 3" of vertical space from any flammable material, such as a cabinet or drawer. If you look at pg. 5 section 5 of your installation instructions you will find a diagram that may help. You can view your instructions here: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/c7/c7fcbfe0-9177-4fc0-b252-01ec02b37a3c.pdf - We hope that this helped! Answer This Question
A: Hello and thank you for your interest in this spectacular cooktop. When installing any of our appliances, safety is our first concern and we highly recommend following the installation instructions.
A cooktop can be installed under this induction cooktop. However, the drawer should be at least 3" below the bottom of the cooktop or 5-7/8" bellow the surface of the counter. Q:Is there any cooling fan noise when cooking?
by|Dec 15, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Hi PickyGuy - We're excited to hear of your interest! Our induction cooktops do have a fan. The fan is automatically turned on when a temperature sensor in the cooktop senses the temperature in the unit is increasing. It's a mechanism to protect the electronics in the unit. The sensor will also turn the fan on any time the element is put in power boost (High setting), again to protect the electronics in the unit. The fan can stay on after the elements are turned off. It won't turn off until the temperature inside the unit is lower. Learn more about our Cafe Professional Collection at www.cafeappliances.com/ - Keep in touch! Sue

Answer This Question
A: Hi PickyGuy - Thanks for your interest in Café™! When a pan is removed from the cooktop surface,
Burner level turns off; Power arc starts to blink. If a pan is not detected for 25 seconds, the control turns off automatically, lights turn off. It does not beep or alarm. Q:Do the induction elements cycle or "pulse" on and off to achieve the low power settings?
by|Dec 15, 2019
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi there,
Hi there, Based on our research we are finding that the burners do not need to cycle on and off to achieve a lower or higher heat like an electric cooktop would need to. The key to induction cooking is electromagnetic energy. This kind of energy is around us every day in the form of AM and FM radio, cell phones, wireless laptops, microwave ovens, infrared, and visible light. It operates on a two part system. First, beneath the ceramic surface of an induction cooking product is a copper coil. When an electrical current is passed through this coil it creates an electromagnetic field of energy. Second, an iron core pan is placed on the cooktop. At this point the heat is activated around the pan. The surface remains cool until both these steps are completed. This is one of the major appeals of induction cooking; the ability the quickly raise and lower the heat, as one would be able to do on a gas range, while having that sleek glass look of an electric cooktop. We hope that this helped! Thank you so much for your question, and happy cooking. -Michael

Q:Do you need to use certain pans on this surface
by|Apr 28, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Hi Sam - Thanks for your interest! Compatible cookware for induction cooktops should be made of magnetic stainless steel, enameled steel, cast iron (works well but may scratch the glass unless it is porcelain coated) or a combination of these materials. The key to testing workable cookware is that a magnet must be able to stick and hold to bottom of pan.
