Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. The stopper in Danco Touch-Toe Tub Drain Trim Kit (11081) is removable, but the Danco Hair Catcher Replacement Baskets (10739) will not fit inside the drain opening. We recommend the 2-in-1 Bathtub Hair Catcher and Stopper (10772), as it will meet all your needs.

Q:The video for this product is incorrect. The rubber gasket goes below the tub and presses against the bottom of the tub. The plumber puddy is for the top and makes the chrome ring flush with the tub, not sticking up in the air like in the video.

Q:The installation video shows that the gasket goes on top of the bathtub, under the plumbers putty, followed by the lip. Many reviewers have mentioned that the gasket needs to be placed under the bathtub, rather than on top of it. Which is correct?

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. The rubber gasket is for use underneath the tub, between the tub and the drain body (if necessary/accessible). Between the drain flange and the tub, you should use plumber’s putty. We apologize for the confusion.

Q:Which measures 2.75? The stopper or the overflow plate? And also is that measurement of the hole it goes in or the face plate? Also, there is a ring on the drain hole. That would need to be replaced along with the stopper. Please also provide that!

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. The outside diameter of the overflow plate is about 3-1/16” and the outside diameter of the tub stopper flange is 2-3/4”. The drain comes with a threaded adapter bushing that is designed to fit 1-1/2” and 1-7/8” drain shoe sizes. Q:My tub is large enough that the weight and volume of water causes to stopper to pull itself closed with the draining water. Either stopping completely or pulsing between draining and closed. Anything we can do to adjust it?

              Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is not a way to adjust the spring strength or the amount of force necessary to close the stopper on Danco model number 88981. A lift and turn stopper, such as Danco model number 88599, might work better in your tub.
