A:  The 5 ah 20v battery will work with this tool. All Dewalt 20v batteries will work in this tool.

A:  This tool has plenty of power to cut plaster and lath. Use a larger battery for maximum output and running time. The depth is determined by the blade you use.

A:  The DCS354B will cut through lathe and plaster. Most blades will cut up to a depth of 1 1/2 inches.

A:  Depends on the blade most will cut a depth of1 1/2 inches on a straight plunge cut.

A:  Yes. You may want to change the the blades between cutting plaster and cutting lathe since the materials are different.

A:  With a good blade yes, I have used it with a diamond blade worked great.

A:  The Dewalt is not odd. It uses all accessories of any brand. It is universal fit.

A:  Proprietary to make more money and ensure no warranty issues by using a universal blade.

A:  I dont own anything Dremel so I have no problem using or enjoying my DeWalt. I suppose if Dremel compatability were my priority I would probably not invest in the DeWalt. Fortunately Dremel blades dont chnge my world. I am quite pleased with my DeWalt oscillating tool and all the compatability and cpability it does have.
