Hi Johnny, Yes. If you purchase a Defiant rekey kit, it comes with the bottom pins and master wafers that allow for master keying a Defiant lock. Please note that the only lock that we have manufactured that does not allow for rekeying is the Defiant Spin-to-lock electronic keypad deadbolt (discontinued). If you have one of these locks, it cannot be rekeyed. Also, before you attempt to rekey a lockset, we suggest researching how to rekey a lockset on YouTube. You can see a basic rekey process video on our YouTube channel (Defiant Door Hardware) however, we do not have a video that reviews the master pinning process so you will need to search other sites for that information. Hi Renee, 1 rekey kit will allow you to rekey over 100 locks. If you are only needing 3 doors with the same keys, we would suggest purchasing 3 locksets from the store and matching the same keyed alike number on the package. This will allow you to have 3 sets with the same key without the hassle of having to rekey. The Home Depot in Colonial Heights VA told me they don’t rekey locks anymore. There’s no freaking way I’m going to spend another $100 for a kit to rekey two deadbolt locks. Their competition does it for free, if you buy the lock there
Hi LouP , Yes, your local Home Depot should be able to rekey your new Defiant lock set IF they have a Defiant rekey kit, an associate who knows the rekey process, and your existing key is a KW1 key.
