    Q:Can this replace a Crouse-Hinds breaker?
    by|Apr 1, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Hello, No, that breaker would not be UL listed to go into a Crouse-Hinds panel. However, you could use a CHQ230, and it would be UL listed for a Crouse-Hinds panel.

A:  Hello, If you currently have a BR 2 pole breaker in your panel, the thickness should be the same. I would check the catalog number on the breaker you are replacing. The catalog number should be BR230. If you need more help, please reach out to our technical support team. Their number is 877-386-2273 Opt. 2 Opt. 3 Opt. 1.

                Answer This Question

A:  Eaton bought out Cutler Hammer. You can find Eaton breakers pretty much anywhere. A 2 pole Square D Homeline breaker would probably work in this case. There are several breakers that may fit in there. But the Eaton breaker is the one you're looking for.

A:  Yes, Cutler Hammer (Eaton) breakers are safe to use in and will pass code inspection, in a Challenger panel, when an ITE Siemens breaker, installed in a Challenger panel, will not.
