          Q:I am replacing model FMV156DCC. It looks like this size is quite similar. Is this a suitable replacement? Also, does this HAVE to vent externally? One of the answers here said it circulated air internally but the info seems to say it vents externally.

          A:  ​Hello there, Erin. We are happy to assist with your inquiry. Here are the dimensions of both units for you to compare. Model FMV156DC Exterior Dimensions (WxHxD): 29-15/16" x 16-1/4" x 15-9/16". Model FGMV17WNVF Exterior Dimensions (WxHxD): 29-7/8" x 16-13/32" x 15-1/32". As you can see, the older model is slightly larger than the newer model. So as long as you can get model FGMV17WNVF in the cutout space efficiently, this should be a good replacement. Lastly, this model can vent in three different ways: Outside Top Exhaust (Vertical Duct), Outside Back Exhaust (Horizontal Duct), and Recirculating (Non-Vented Ductless). If the vent is OFF the first touch of the vent pad will turn the fan on HIGH, second touch LOW and third touch OFF. - Kailey
