Q:What are the BTU needs of this generator for proper size of natural gas fuel line piping?
      by|Sep 2, 2020
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  For the Generac model #7039 fueled by natural gas, the BTU content is 301,000. Fueled by liquid propane, the BTU content is 325,000. This information is located on the product spec sheet which can be found on Generac.com. We recommending contacting your gas provider, or a licensed plumber, and they will be able to size the gas line for you. Gas pipe size will depend on length of run from the source and how many elbows and T’s there are. Gas line size on our units can range from ¾” to 1 ¼” or greater, depending on the unit and how far from the gas source. Units running on natural gas need 3.5” to 7” of water column of pressure, and units running on propane will need 10” to 12” of water column of pressure
