A: These hinges should work fine as long as they are securely attached. The weakest points may be the screw locations. Just make sure that you use long enough screws into a strong enough door jamb to hold them. On the door itself, welded nuts or even welding the hinges to the door would be preferable. Although, if you don't mind the look of exposed bolts, through bolting the hinges to the door with an exposed nut with flat & lock washers on the ends of bolts would work well. I might actually use a locking nut there too, enlieu of a lock washer.

A: Sure, use a set for each side. SS NRP is quite appropriate for out-swing since the pins will be exposed. I'd typically use this size hinge for heavier 1-3/4" doors.
