A:  Yes, it is hard to pull apart, however for me it more than worth it. Wide steps make me feel secure. it is great for painting  Use mine whenever I need a ladder.

A:  Tap the tray from the bottom upwards to loosen it from the pins. Then you pull it off the pins.

A:  First time removal is difficult. With ladder laying flat on floor, I used a rubber mallet to gently tap on the inside top at each side until it moved toward the ladder top. After that, it slipped on and off the holding pins easily.
