However, we do not suggest painting our other finishes (i.e. penny vein, bronze burst, etc.) as we cannot guarantee a paint match outcome. However, on our Clear finish tile there is a thin layer of protective coating to prevent environmental damage to the tile. Unlike the raw nature of our unfished tin panels, the clear coated tiles are less suceptable to the elements. While they can still be affected, they won't show the same wear as the unfinished panels would if exposed to things such as water contact. If you were to take your tiles to your local Home Depot location they shoud be able to match it to a color in their paint department. A:  These tiles are available in ten different finish options but are not designed to be finished otherwise.

A:  Thank you for your great question. Yes, the Hamilton 2 ft. x 2 ft. Lay-in Tin Ceiling Tile in Matte White can be painted, along with the unfinished panels. These are the only two that are recommended if you plan on painting your tiles. Use an oil-based primer and paint. Steel will rust if a water-based product is used. A:  This is not heat resistant.

A:  The tile is made of light weight tin with a painted surface. It would not burn, but depending on how hot your stove gets, the heat might discolor or even remove the paint.
