A: It can be mounted either way since it works with the pressure of water. I have mine horizontally by the way. hope this helps.

A: We suggest mounting this horizontally. Please call our tech line at 800-247-1087 if you would like help troubleshooting.

A: Replaced a prior long-life filter- horizontal mount fine - you may want to secure with ties/brackets so water connections do not loosen over time due to movement.

A: Yes but I suggest horizontally.

A: Appears to be able to be mounted either way, as long as the hose is flexible and no bending occurs near the connections, and in general, the hose is not twisted.

Q:I have a Frigidaire side by side with built-in water dispenser. It's got a filter already. But I wanted to add a pre-filter so as to prolong the life of my fridge filter. And also reduce deposits from getting stuck in the inlet valve. Is this a good idea? Basically from the water line, goes to this filter, then out to the inlet valve of the fridge. Thoughts?

A: Yes it is a good idea I put a 3 year filter in the back but I still change the filter inside every 6 months
by|May 5, 2023
A: That IS exactly why I purchased and installed it. I am no plumber but I was told to leave my refrigerator filter in until the flow became restricted, then replace. So it doesn't eliminat the in fridge filters but my assumption is they will last much much longer.
by|May 4, 2023
A: I do the same thing this makes the other filter last longer-- I will only use the HDX for about 3 1/2 years then change it out
by|May 4, 2023
A: Your fridge probably has an easily accessible line to a water source, so unless your fridge manual specifically states your plan shouldn't be tried, it appears it would work.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Sounds excellent. The pressure into your fridge shall be a little lower.
