A: I would expect this to NOt be a problem.. Put wire nuts or tape to prevent shorting.
by|May 5, 2023
A: You can’t do that because of the wire that’s running through it that runs power to the entire string of light.
by|May 5, 2023
A: We shortened one of our strings and had no problem.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes, this is an electrical line. I don’t believe you should cut it I believe that’s Dangerous to do what you’re planning to do. Just don’t screw the lightbulbs into the sockets you don’t want to use. leave two empty on both ends. most likely nobody will notice.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Technically it is possible to do. One would have to make sure the raw end would not cause any shorts and then be insulted or covered to maintain waterproof aspect. They are available in other lengths

Q:Are the bulbs glass? Will they withhold with all the elements? Can they be outside year round and not break?

A: The incadescent light string bulbs are glass and they have proven to be a worthy purchase. I had been in search of a good quality set of indoor/outdoor lights for several weeks and found the Hampton Bay set has met all my expectations. They are the classic style and will give your outdoor space an inviting ambiance. We enjoy our backyard gatherings with friends and family much more under the cozy feel of a Hampton Bay setting.

A: yes they are glass. we left ours out last winter with no issues
by|May 5, 2023
A: The bulbs are glass. We leave ours hung all year long in the open. Have had no problems with them breaking because of cold or heat. We love where we get snow in the winter and up to 90 degrees in the summer
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes the bulbs are glass. They are the same as a normal light bulb, just smaller. I use the lights year round on my screened in porch. I am in NY state where temp is below zero at times.
Not sure how they will be if exposed to freezing rain and snow directly.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Bought these lights last summer. There were out all winter and are great shape. The bulbs are a heavy glass and I was a little concerned but they held up great. Very happy with them.

A: My lights have been up on our awning-covered patio for over a year, coming on every night with a timer, the original bulbs still working. We love them!
by|May 5, 2023
A: The bulbs are 11-watt incandescent bulbs in S14 shape, 130 volts, with a medium screw base. If you find bulbs matching that specification, they should be roughly the same color temperature.
by|May 6, 2023
A: I received a whole extra box with mine. I do believe I saw the bulbs at home depot. Take a bulb with me to home depot to match it.

A: Supposedly. However, I decided to use LED bulbs and my electrician told me that the power draw (my terms) demanded that I NOT string them together.
