A:  The shortest rod is 6". I have a low ceiling so I installed it with the shortest rod and measured to the bottom of the pendant which is 23" from the ceiling.

A:  This pendant only comes with 3 ft of wire.

A:  It only comes with 3' of extension rods, so the wire is long enough for that. If you had additional rods to extended it, in theory you can go and remove the wiring at the socket and connect a longer wires, which you would most likely have to solder.

A:  No, it does not need to be rewired to lengthen.
