A: We live in Chesapeake VA and ours has worked fine for the past 5 years.

Never had an issue in the 3 years I've had the doorbell.

A: I bought this for our Church and secretary. I live and attend Church in North East Ohio where we are experiencing warm and cold temperatures all in the same week. So far it's working every time. We have no regrets over the purchase. The secretary can take and does take the inside unit with her into the sanctuary if she has to replace any envelopes or anything else in the hymnal racks. It does work from a long range away. We are not disappointed with the unit.

A: I purchased this doorbell and installed in a rental home in Southeast Missouri where it can be single digits in the winter and occasionally three digits in the summer. We had zero problems with this doorbell and it’s on rental family three. I chose this doorbell because it had consistently high reviews and I actually checked again before I started drafting this review and it’s still highly rated. I think it would be worth a try as we can recommend it without hesitation and others still rate it high as well. I truly think you may be pleasantly surprised and while returning items is never pleasant, Home Depot makes it easy so I would go for it.

Q:Why do people buy both the series 5 & series 9 together, why would it be necessary?
by|Nov 19, 2019

Answer This Question
A: The series 9 can withstand colder temps which is why I switched as I live in OH
by|Dec 18, 2019
A: Because it’s an added chime to the series where u can place it in another room
by|May 1, 2020
A: Hi Rusty! Thanks for reaching out to us. It is not necessary to buy both. The Honeywell Series 9 Wireless Portable Doorbell and Series 5 Wireless Portable Doorbell can be linked together (via ActivLink Technology), so doorbells can be placed in different locations throughout the property. Any Honeywell push button or doorbell with the "E" compatibility mark will work together. A: It lights up when pushed
by|Dec 18, 2019
A: Yes. When pressed.
by|Apr 21, 2020
A: Yes.
by|Oct 26, 2019
A: You can use many varieties of buttons as they need to be synced with the portable doorbell. Remember that this doorbells require a J battery or similar power cell therefore I personally would not want a lighted button due to killing the battery much to fast. This is my personal opinion. I have owned and love this Honeywell for a couple of years now and have not yet changed the battery in the button yet.

by|Apr 21, 2020
A: Yes it’s digital no wires required. Battery operated

A: Yes, but unless you have specific issues with analog vs digital the type of transmission is immaterial.
The main feature of this doorbell is that it is wireless.
As such it doesn't matter if it is digital.

Q:I see that the average battery life for the doorbell is two years. But what about the push button? We have a "brand x" wireless doorbell right now that we are extremely dissatisfied with because we have to change the battery in the push button about every three weeks. Is that the nature of the beast, or does this unit typically offer better results?

A: Ours doesn't see a ton of use, maybe 3 times a day, but it has been nearly 3 years and we haven't changed the batteries in the button. I put duracell quantum batteries in the receiving unit, and I haven't had to change those either. Very reliable.

A: I have not changed mine in over two years and it still works fine. Perhaps under different circumstances with more use the battery life could be shorter. I do not have people every day ringing my doorbell thank goodness.

Q:I would like to have one doorbell, but two strobe flashers in the house. I am not clear if this is considered syncing another device or if you are only considering other devices syncing with one strobe light. Thank you for your prompt responses.

A: Hi there, to have one push button and 2 chimes with the strobe flashers you will have to pair the push button with both chimes and if you only need the light in one of the chimes you can mute it.
