A:  The maximum height of this product would be with the 5 inch down rod.

      A:  No, you will not need an additional hub. However, you will need to create an account with Hunter through the "Simple Connect App" or you can also use Apple Home Kit to control the ceiling fan.

                Q:Hello Bdresch4, No, the Apache model fan is not compatible with the Amazon applications at this time. Thank you Is there any estimate when the Apache fan will compatible with the Amazon Alexa? The Apple Home kit does work with the Amazon Alexa through the Phillips Hue.

                    A:  Hi TWR29 You can purchase and pair additional remotes. I wanted an in-wall remote and used model# 99373. It works perfectly right along with the handheld remote that came with the fan.
