Q:How often do I have to add oil? For small jobs, do I need a lubricator system?
by|Jul 8, 2018

Answer This Question

A:  No, you won't need a lubricant system for small jobs. I re-shingled my entire roof (16 squares...48 bundles) and garage with this nailer and a 6 gal "central pneumatic" pancake compressor. Both held up to the task and performed as advertised with out any maintenance during the task. That's not to say it wouldn't benefit from routine oiling though. The manufacturer recommends 2-3 drops be added to the air inlet after long periods of use or if you so wish, an oiler system can be installed.

A:  I roofed my garage and my parent’s garage without adding oil. I had no problems at all.

by|May 5, 2023

A:  No, the lubrication system is not required, that is the "optimal" set up. The vast majority of users will add a few drops of pneumatic oil (detergent free) right through the air hose fitting on the nailer. We recommend a few drops every 1,000 nails or so, or if the nailer has sat idle for a period of time.

A:  You don't need a lubricator system; just add 4 to 5 drops of pneumatic oil through the air hose connector.

A:  No the harder board siding nails have bigger head

            by|Apr 9, 2019

A:  This will handle up to a 1.75 nail, so if Hardie calls for a longer nail than this, then no.

A:  I don't believe you can because it'll void the warranty on your siding. The last time I put up cement board siding it said Do not use them right in the front of the installation guide.

A:  All roofing nails are interchangeable as long as they are the coil roofing nails. Just don't try to shoot coil siding nails they won't work in it and will cause damage to the nailer or worse personal injury.

A:  All the nailers and staplers you find are good for multiple applications. It all depends on the materials you're using. The coil nailer is primarily for roofing and siding. It does give you the options of standard or galvanized, and straight or ring shank, but the lengths available are limited. If you check the length of nails or staples the tool uses and the type and specific length of nail or staple you'll need, It would be easier for you to make your choice.

A:  You could in theory but the head of the nails are large and would show on the finished fence badly not to mention when they rusted the staining of your fence would be extensive. I recommend a siding nailer with some aluminum nails or even a framing nailgun with galvanized 8d nails will work the best for you.

A:  This is a roofing nailer, however roofing nailers are quite often used for other applications such as siding. Please refer to your siding manufacturers installation instruction manual for the correct type of fastener to use so you don't void the warranty on your siding product.
