Q:We have the 4.2 cu. Ft. washer dryer combo unit. We have had it about a year now and run the clean cycle about once a month maybe 6 week. Recently the unit is not drying. Clothes come out still damp after 3 to 4 hours of drying. What could be the problem

    Answer This Question

A:  There are several reasons as to why clothes are coming out still damp after 3-4 hours of drying in your LG 4.2 cu.ft. Compact Electric Condensing Front Load Dryer, Model # DLEC888W. Did you properly sort your loads of laundry? Be sure to separate heavy-weight items from light-weight items when creating loads. Are you drying large loads of heavy fabrics? Heavy fabrics take longer to dry because they tend to retain more moisture. To help reduce and maintain more consistent drying times for large and heavy fabrics, separate these items into smaller loads of a consistent size. Use the appropriate control settings for the type of load you are drying. Check your home’s or laundry room’s fuse box/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. Make sure that you are not overloading the dryer. Divide larger loads into a number of smaller loads. You will also need to check that the condenser in the dryer is not dirty or clogged. Doing so will increase energy consumption and drying times. The condenser is a very important part of your dryer. This is where the moisture is removed from the air so there is no need for an outside exhaust. If the condenser is not properly maintained, it will greatly increase energy consumption and drying time. The condenser should be cleaned 3 or 4 times a year, or any time the Clean Condenser light blinks. Make sure to empty the water container. If your dryer is not connected to a household drain, then the water reservoir will capture the water from the drying process. This should be emptied for every load. Failure to do so may result in poor drying performance...^Ivan

A:  I've talked to LG three times over the past 3 years and they always say the same thing: they have no plans at this time to offer pedestals for these units, unfortunately.

A:  As noted on the webpage for this dryer, the LG WM1388HW is the marching washer so you could stack this dryer on the WM1388HW washer if you wanted.

Q:(1) Can this compact dryer be mounted on top of my present LG compact washer Model #WM1355HW? If so: (2) I already have an LG dryer Model #DLEC855W mounted there. Will the existing stacking kit work with this new dryer? If not, will a new stacking kit work? (3) Will the deliverers be able to install the DLEC888W dryer and take away the old one?

                Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Yes, the LG compact washer Model # WM1355HW is the matching appliance for this set! It is stackable with the LG compact dryer. Depending on the age and condition of your current stacking kit, it should be possible for you to use the same one to install your new appliance. Please note that Home Depot's delivery and installation team will not be able to install the stackable appliance with an existing stacking kit or on top of an existing appliance- both appliances and the stacking kit would need to be brand new and would need to be on the same order. They will haul away the old one if already uninstalled. I hope this helps! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
