Q:Will it flex without breaking the bond

      Answer This Question

A:  The answer to your question would essentially be no. The Loctite Marine Epoxy is rigid when cured. It can handle some flex but not much depending upon the materials it is bonded to and nature of the intended use.

A:  Yes, this can be used on a cracked outdoor spigot

        by|May 10, 2019

A:  The Loctite Marine Epoxy is not designed for applications or pressurized systems. The epoxy more than likely will not hold up depending upon the amount of pressure that it would be exposed to.

          by|May 10, 2019

A:  I’m not sure it will hold up to the pressure. You might want to contact the manufacturer: http://m.loctiteproducts.com

Q:How can I remove the cured adhesive?

              Answer This Question

A:  Soak a paper towel or cloth with vinegar and gently rub it on the affected area until theepoxy softens enough to peel off. No luck? Acetone, or acetone-based nail polishremover, can also be applied to a paper towel and used in the same way, but do so with care.

              by|Apr 18, 2019

A:  If the Loctite Marine Epoxy is already cured removal will be quite difficult. Cured adhesive may be cut away with caution using a sharp blade. Prolonged immersion, if possible, in paint stripper will soften the cured adhesive to aid removal but keep in mind it is important to follow solvent manufacturers’ instructions when using strippers. There is not guarantee that damage to surface finishes will not occur.

                  Answer This Question

A:  The Loctite Epoxy Marine may work for this type of repair. It depends on the size of the crack and where it is located on the bowl.

                  by|Mar 19, 2019

A:  Honestly, I don't know. However, it is pretty amazing stuff. You really shouldn't repair a toilet bowl in the manner. The nature of the porcelain surface in a toilet bowl helps to exclude bacteria in a way that a plastic simply cannot. It also might support fungus which would also be undesireable. Highly recommend that you replace the toilet.

                      Answer This Question

A:  "Possibly"... I believe this product will seal cracks in fiberglass structures, but... it depends on how large the crack is and if the crack is located in an area of the tub that will receive stress from movement. If you are able to post a photo of the crack you would like to use the product on and where the crack is located, this would be helpful information to better answer your question.

A:  Yes, The Loctite Marine Epoxy can be used but the success of the repair will depend upon the nature of the crack in the tub. If it is in areas where the fiberglass can flex it may not hold up well without some sort of support from beneath. Typically, a crack indicates there is stress from movement.

Q:I want to glue the valve perm in place, so I need something that will both seal and bond the black ABS valve to the Polyurathane tank, or would ABS pipe glue bond these two plastics?

                        Answer This Question

A:  The Loctite Marine Epoxy is not suitable for use on potable water tanks. If your tank is not for potable water (drinking water) and it is made of polyurethane as you have indicated, then the Marine Epoxy should work. However, if the tank is made of polypropylene then the Loctite Marine Epoxy will not bond. You should check with the tank manufacturer first to determine its composition since most tanks for RV’s are made of polypropylene.

                          Answer This Question

A:  HDPE is High Density Polyethylene plastic not polyurethane. If you are sure the boat hull is HDPE, then the Loctite Marine Epoxy would not be recommended as it will not bond to polyethylene or HDPE type plastics. Recommend you contact the boat manufacturer for their repair recommendations.

A:  If prepped and cured dry, yes. I didn't have much luck setting underwater but couldn't prep the surface properly. On the same application dry, no issues. I don't believe it's good for the environment, so it's kind of a dilemma, but it is a good product for the purpose.
