Loctite Marine Epoxy is a two-part system consisting of an epoxy resin and a hardener. The convenient syringe dispenses equal amounts of each component every time. When mixed in equal volumes, the resin and hardener react to produce a tough, rigid, high strength bond in 120 minutes. It can be applied and cured underwater. Ideal for repairing pipes. It cures to a white finish and can be easily sanded or machined. It does not shrink and is resistant to water and most common solvents. Recommended for bonding metal, concrete, glass, fiberglass, ceramic, wood and certain rigid plastics. It's ideal for PVC, copper, brass and galvanized pipes and surfaces exposed to water immersion.

Q:does it act as sealent as well as bonding, does it seal leaks
by|Jul 15, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Loctite Marine Epoxy is not a sealant as it is not flexible when cured but instead rigid. It can help seal leaks depending on the nature of the leak.

Q:Will this repair a crack in the bottom of a mobile home shower
by|Oct 21, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Thank you for the question. Using Loctite Marine Epoxy for the intended repair is suitable assuming the surface to be fiberglass (otherwise your success will be dependent on the composition of the material to be repaired) and assuming the severity of the crack is not too great. Keep in mind that this product will take at least 24 hours to reach full strength and is dependent on temperature, humidity, and thickness of epoxy applied.

Pool Repair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to repair a broken skimmer basket handle in our pool. We removed the basket and let dry slightly before applying the epoxy. We made the repair, let the epoxy dry, and replaced in the water. Everything is holding firm so far!

Specialist Marine Application
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am impressed with this product provided a a free sample. Its application is intended for marine in that it will bond wet surfaces. Unpacking and mixing the components I was initially concerned that it did not come with a cap to seal after each use but further inspection revealed the black cap is molded into the body and just needs to be pushed out for use.
The white and semi-transparent components mix up to an opaque white formulation. As I intend to use this for repair of my hot tub surface gelcoat that's a much better aesthetic than clear. However that project will have to wait until the summer when I drain it.
The instructions say surfaces should be clean and dry but I found out that isn't the case and in any case the packaging says it bonds wet surfaces.
So I did a trial on plastic container. I mixed up the glue and then using an applicator tried applying it to a corner which I'd filled with water, essentially underwater. To my surprise the epoxy when rubbed against each surface is very tacky and does adhere and bond very well, even underwater.
I left it for several hrs and when the final result was tested it handmade an excellent bond.

It has a very strong hold/bond.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product works well and is easy to apply to the surface area. After it dries which takes a few hours, it has a very strong hold/bond. It is durable when it comes in contact with moisture and water thus can be used for different areas of the house.

No more worries!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This marine epoxy is the perfect sealant for leaks around the house. I used this for a leak under the sink where other products did not last; been watching this for about 3 weeks now and it has not shrunk, the leak has been sealed thus far. It is very easy to mix, has a slight smell during mixture but that’s nothing to worry about, and is fairly easy to put on. I love that it sticks to like almost anything. You do not need to even dry the area you need to seal; it works with the area wet! It works and dry pretty quickly as well. This is perfect and would keep this as a staple in the household.

magic!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loctite Epoxy Marine is like magic! The syringe attached makes it easy to apply equal amounts, no matter the project need. The fact that it can be used without draining the water out first is a game-changer. When I used it to repair a pipe, it worked like a dream. I love the fact that it can be sanded down, if needed to leave a smooth finish or to be able to paint it whatever color is desired.

Useful and Strong Hold
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Loctite Marine Epoxy is useful for heavy duty projects. I like that it dispenses from one plunger (two attached syringes) as opposed to two separate bottles, so they are easier to keep together. The plunger is somewhat difficult to push an equal amount out and requires some concentration. Like most epoxy glues, it must be mixed together on a discardable surface and applied with a stick (both of which are not included). This epoxy takes 2 hours to set and should not be touched for 3 hours, so this is not for quick fixes. I think the setting and drying time is worth the ability to use this underwater and having a strong hold. The slow setting time also means there is more time to apply the epoxy and make adjustments. I think it is important to mention that this dries white and is not clear so more care has to be made to make sure not a lot of excess is used. This epoxy is a great multi-project glue to use when you have time to wait for it to set and want a foolproof hold even in wet conditions.
