A:  The Lodge enamel 7.5 quart dutch oven (EC7D43) doesn't have basting tips or spikes on the under side of the lid.

A:  Yes, Lodge Enamel can be used for frying food. Be sure to use the tips below: 1. When frying, fill the cookware one-third of the way with oil. 2. Start on Low, and gradually increase the temperature to Medium. (There is no need to heat higher than Medium on the stovetop.) 3. Do not add food until oil has reached desired frying temperature.

A:  I haven’t a clue. It is a bit heavy, but i love it and I dont care what it weighs! It is a wonderful piece of equipment. Ihave several sizes of Dutch ovens but this one is my favorite. You can make a lot of food in this one!

A:  Cast iron cookware has such a strong magnetic force that the cookware does not have to sit flat to work. For the cookware to reach optimum performance, your stove needs to have a bridge since power-sharing can cause the cookware to have hotspots and heat unevenly. You can check the owners manual or contact the manufacturer of your range to find out if your induction cooktop has a bridge or not.
