          A:  Extension ladders adjust up in 12" increments. A 24 ft extension ladder has a maximum extended length of 21 feet and a maximum reach of 23 feet - 8 inches (assuming the person is 5 feet - 7 inches tall).

                  A:  A 24 ft. Extension ladder has a maximum reach of 23'-8" going by the average person's height of 5'-7". The maximum extended length of the ladder is 21 ft. You can reach 23 feet with this ladder but you will be at the very top of the ladder and if that bothers you might go up to the next higher ladder of 28 ft.
