A:  The mattress is probably safer than whatever you intend to cut a giant piece of compressed foam with.  It doesn’t “pop” open when the bag is opened.

A:  Yes, you can cut it, place the pad on the floor, use a piece of cardboard to protect the floor. Use a wooden board as a cutting guide and to compress the pad. Use a sharp utility knife to cut the pad, making sure you cut all the way through. Mike

You can also walk or crawl along the topper for a few minutes throughout the day, as that can help break up the air pockets in the foam. A:  Yes this is very soft I have shoulder and back pain and it helps I have had major back surgery and both my shoulders are arthritic
