A:  Hello Lisa, thank you for your inquiry. We are sorry to hear about the issue you have encountered. The problem you are experiencing may be due to the LED bulbs being incompatible with the Maestro LED+ fan and light control. Because there is no industry standard for manufacturing LEDs, not all LEDs are designed the same. That's why Lutron has a a mobile-friendly web tool to help you select bulbs that perform great with Lutron dimmers. We specifically test to ensure that the bulbs we list on our tool are not susceptible to a variety of common LED issues. To use the tool, please visit lutron.com/ledfinder. Also, our fan controls are designed to control a standard 3-speed ceiling fan which only uses pull-chains to adjust its speeds. Some fans have a built-in module or limiter that can't be controlled by other manufacturer's controls. We suggest you contact the fan manufacturer to find out if your fan can be controlled by a third-party fan control such as Lutron devices. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please call our support line at 844-LUTRON1. We're here 24/7, so please call us any time!

Q:Is there a version if this switch that has a simple on/off for the fan and the dimmable LED switch? Most fans today come with remote controls for speed and direction and don?t need the switch-based adjustments.

A:  Here is what your looking for . There's also a version that has a standard SP switch along with a slide type dimmer. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lutron-Maestro-300-Watt-Single-Pole-Dual-Dimmer-and-Switch-Palladium-MA-L3S25-PD/205862716?g_store=&source=sh

A:  It looks like the following model may be what you're looking for: MACL-L3S25 (one description said the switch for the fan may have a timer on it but look into it because the Lutron website was not mentioning a timer I think)

A:  Hello! Unfortunately, Lutron does not offer a dual switch that is half On/Off and half LED Rated dimmer at this time. If you are looking for an On/Off and LED Rated dimmer, our current recommendation would be to expand the junction box if space permits to install two full-size devices side-by-side in the wall. If you still have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-844-LUTRON1. We're here 24/7, so you can reach out anytime, day or night.

A:  Hello Smith, thank you for your inquiry. The MACL-LFQH does require a separate switch leg for the fan and for the light in the wall box. Answer This Question

A:  Hello Janet, thank you for your question. The Maestro LED+ dimmer and fan speed control requires two separate switch leg/load wire connections to the device, in addition to power: one wire for the fan motor, and one wire for the light. It is not a direct replacement for obsolete controls that utilize a fan-mounted canopy module. See the below specification sheet with installation schematics for more information and an illustration of this installation: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/3691057.pdf We hope this helps! If you require further assistance on selecting the proper Lutron control for your application, our 24/7 support team is here to help. Answer This Question

A:  Hello! We appreciate your interest in Lutron Products! Unfortunately, we do not have a Caseta dual or ""stacked"" LED-rated dimming and fan control at this time. This is primarily due to there not being enough physical space within the backing of one dimmer to fit the necessary components required to handle LED lighting loads. If clearance permits, the Lutron solution with these types of applications would be to expand the wall box itself to allow for a multi-gang wall box to be installed in its place that can house multiple dimming controls attached to their own respective lighting loads. If you still have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-844-LUTRON1. We're here 24/7, so you can reach out anytime, day or night."

                      Answer This Question

A:  In order for this to work you need a 3 conductor wire from your switch box to the exhaust fan. If you don't you'll need to run an additional wire for the light, it's usually blue in the instructions. The black goes to the fan black, white to fan white. Also note this control switch is larger than a standard switch. Make sure you have room in the box.

A:  Hello James, thank you for your question. The fan portion of the Maestro model MACL-LFQ can only be used with a multi-speed ceiling paddle-style fan and not an exhaust fan. See the below spec sheet for more information: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/3691057.pdf We hope this helps! If you require further assistance, our 24/7 support team is here to help. A:  No, the motor in a bathroom exhaust fan is not meant to have the speed adjusted.  Even if you don’t plan on adjusting the speed, it could still potentially hurt the life of the motor.

A:  Hello! The MA-LFQ35 utilizes a Canopy Module which will need to be removed and an additional wire will need to be run down to the MACL-LFQ in order to control your fan and light separately. You can view more information about how the MACL-LFQ works in the specification sheet here: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/3691057.pdf If you still have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-844-LUTRON1. A:  Not as a direct replacement. I looked up the MA-LFQ35 and it uses a single power line running from the switch to the fan. There is a companion module at the fan that receives a digital signal from the switch then controls the fan & light separately. The MACL-LFQ uses 2 power wires from the switch to the fan, 1 for the fan and 1 for the light. There is no companion module at the fan.
