Q:Whats the width of the reveal around the perimeter? Trying to avoid seeing that and need to know how much needs to be removed and whats left over.

Answer This Question
A: The reveal is not consistent. On two sides, it's 1/8"; it's 1/4" on the other sides (this is for the 36x36 version). This measurement is between the edge of the sheet and one of the 'nubs' in the cloverleaf cutout. Hope this helps.

A: Thank you for your question. The width is 1/4"

Q:I want to use this to cover a 36"fire pit ring and place a portable fire pit on top that has its own ring of support. How much weight can this sheet adequately hold?

Answer This Question
A: Hi, the sheet is very thin and flimsy, approx. 1/32 of an inch. I use it as a radiator cover. i don’t think it can support more than a pound or so.

A: Not much at all... It's very thin gauge and flimsy. You might be better off using a piece of diamond mesh steel screen...

A: They are pretty thin. Aluminum melts at 1221F. A fire pit might reach 2000F. Go with steel or, better yet, iron.

A: Thank you for your question. Any clear type of adhesive that can be used for both metal and wood should do the trick.

Q:what is the gauge of metal on this product? I want to compare apples to apples and the thickness is confusing.

Answer This Question
A: Not sure of the gauge however the thickness is around 1/16 inch. The metal-to-cutout area does not weaken the sheet. My previous sheet was used behind a microwave & vertical. This new sheet is being used horizontally on the ceiling to cover HVAC returns, and does not sag.

A: Thank you for the question. The product thickness is .019".

A: Yes, I've had good results with canned spray paint such as Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover.
by|Nov 26, 2019
A: Yes, it can be painted
by|Nov 26, 2019
A: Its metal so use paint with primer spray. Depending on where you are using
It..if near heat you can prime and use heat resistant spray paint
I would think if you follow this it could be beautiful
by|Sep 1, 2022
A: Definitely. Use a primer first or a paint w/primer and you should be good. I painted mine with Latex over 2 years ago and they still look great. I don't recommend Latex for a bathroom or outdoors.
by|Nov 28, 2019
A: Yes could be painted with all listed, I suggest using an enamel.
by|Nov 26, 2019
A: I didn’t pant mine but I’m pretty crafty/handy and there wouldn’t be a reason you couldn’t paint it as far as I could see. Now because it’s a slick surface you need to do very light coats at a time or it will drip. Laying it flat when painting even better. I used it for a couple of kitchen cabinet doors. Turned out great. Also know that it damages easily in transport so check it before you leave the store if you are picking it up there.

A: It could potentially be spray painted if it’s inside and doesn’t get a lot of handling. Obviously you would need to sand and prime first, but it may work.
by|Nov 27, 2019
A: I would only use spray paint on this after scuffing with fine steel wool.

Q:Would the metal screen block the signal from a remote control to a DVR or DVD player or to stereo equipment?

Answer This Question
A: I think not as it has openings you can point remote anbd adjust location of box inside. You just have to know where that location is on your equipment to line it up.

Q:I am looking for something easy to work with to put in the mid and upper sections of a 3-panel pocket door to keep cats in/out. There's a chance we will have large puppies/dogs in the sanctuary who may jump up to the mid section of the door to look through, but that is a secondary concern and we can always cross that bridge when we get to it. It seems like this particular product might be to thin to hold it's shape against large dog paws/claws, but what about it's suitabilty for climbing cats? If the top is sharp when cut, could kitten/cat toes/claws also get cut in the cloverleaf cutouts? One of the resident felines seems like he will grow to about 14lbs and others are close in sice. There is potential 2 cats to be on one 20x20 section at a given time, so it might have to hold up about 30lbs, though this would be distributed over 6-8 paws at any given time. What do you cat experts think? If you used this, how would you attach it to the 1/4" solid wood panel?
If this wont do, what do you recommend? Chicken wire is not prefered because fur sticks to it and it gets mishapen too easily. We want something that looks nice and appropriate for a 1950's crafstman cottage, please. We appreciate all helpful suggestions =)

A: We would not recommend any of the perforated sheets because they would be a little too sharp for kittens! We would however recommend something like our Screen Door Grills - they are powder coated and I don't think they would be as sharp.

A: I would not use this for what you have described. You would need a heavier gauge metal for the use you want. This would not hold up against your pets.
