Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for the interest in an MSI product. In general, Carrara Glazed Porcelain Floor and Wall Tile has a matte finish. Installation pictures may be deceptive due to the light. Please find the below link for the polished one. https://www.homedepot.com/p/MSI-Carrara-12-in-x-24-in-Glazed-Polished-Porcelain-Floor-and-Wall-Tile-16-sq-ft-case-NHDCARR1224P/205138045

Q:Curious as to if anyone chose this tile after comparing to the polished version and if so, why? Does this version have more gray/less white? My store only has polished version which is nice but would like more gray veining which this seems to have more of than the polished.

A:  I bought the matte version because the polish would be more of a slipping hazard. Maybe you should look at the MSI Strata Model #NHDSTR1224. I thought this had more veining and more contrast between the veining and the white background than the Carrara. Maybe it is what you are looking for.

A:  Our store had both. I chose the matte finished because the lighting in the store glared off the tile and you couldn't see the veining pattern just the glare, also it had an orange peel appearance to it which the lighting in the store really brought out. I wanted more of an authentic slab look. We just finished the bathroom install and love how it turned out, The veining is gorgeous! We also took the time to lay out the tile before install to best match the veining pattern. Another fyi to keep in mind wherever your installing, polished can be very slippery when wet, so if your considering a bathroom you may want to take this into consideration also.

A:  Thank you for your interest in the MSI Carrara Tile. The patterns and colors will be the same. Use the location you are installing the tile in to determine which you choose. Good luck with your project!

Q:I am completely confused and I have read all the reviews. What is the difference between Model # NHDCAR1224 Internet #206083789 Store SKU #1001402346 , and Model # NHDCARR1224P Internet #205138045 Store SKU #1000047213. When I was in the HD store I once saw what I thought was these two tiles. They are all gone now. One tile was extremely shiny and the other looked just like the shiny one but was Matt, with a tiny bit of texture. I wanted to get the shiny for my new bathroom walls from floor to ceiling and then get the matte for my floor. The two tiles I saw at the store, had the same coloration, the only difference between the two was the shiny and texture. I hope someone can clear this up for me. Thank you.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The tiles are from the same collection so they are the same in pattern and color. The different between the two is the finish. NHDCAR1224 Internet #206083789 is a matte finish. NHDCARR1224P Internet #205138045 is a polished finish and we be have a high shine. Let us know if you have any other questions regarding our products. Good luck on your project!

A:  I believe you have it correct. The 'P' at the end of the model number stands for 'Polished'. The version without the 'P' is a matte finish. I used the matte on both the floor and walls. I believe you can still order them online. Only some stores carry them in stock. If you go to your neighborhood HD store, they can tell you which stores have them in stock and how many they have.

A:  the 1224P is supposed to be polished and shiney and the 1224 is a matte finish but I have ordered both as samples and they both came with a matte finish so the manufacturer said the 1224P is polished and shinney so we are waiting for our order to come and see if we get the right thing, and if you order it get plenty extra because both orders have came in pieces one box had every piece broken

            Answer This Question

A:  The tile I bought was matte finish and ended with '1224'. I believe the 'P' at the end means it is polished. I would be careful using the polished on the floor because you might have more of a chance slipping. We used the matte on the floor and it is fine.

A:  Thank you for your interest in our items. The initial item you have expressed interest in, the Carrara Tile is made of porcelain and is a blend of gray and white tones. The other tile you have mentioned in your comment is this item is Ceramic and will have more of a gray color. Both are acceptable to be applied to either the floor or the wall. Let us know if you have any other inquiries. Good luck with your project!

Q:In the description it says that the tile has a shiny glazed polish for the finish but other people have asked this question and the answer everyone is saying it has a matte finish. I would like to know how you get the shiny polished finish? I do not want a matte finish. Thank you

A:  I believe Home Depot sells the matte finish. If you want the polished finish, you may have to go to the manufacturer and see where they sell it. I have seen it available online.

A:  Can't be sure, but the only thing I can think of is that the 'hd' might stand for "home depot". You might want to make sure that you have the same finish on both... matte versus polished.

A:  For floor tile you should always use a sanded grout for more strength. The problem with white on the floor is that it gets dirty easily. I used a medium gray grout and it looks great
