Answer This Question

A:  Unfortunately, I too can not find them in any of our local stores and online they are out of stock, with no date of arrival. There are other outlets for this type of hose online, but generally they are more expensive.

Q:Can I connect this with a kitchen faucet?

    Answer This Question

A:  Only if you have a garden hose adapter and the kitchen faucet has the removable aerator which unscrews. It would be like any other garden house attaching to your faucet.

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, however, you will need an adapter since indoor plumbing is threaded different. Check with your local home depot bring the coil hose and ask assistance. Will also need the make and model of your faucet.

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, you could by using an adapter, since indoor plumbing is threaded differently. However, Melnor products are only designed for outdoor use with cold water.

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Possibly, if you get the plumbing interface "adapter(s)" needed. However when you stretch it to reach where you want to go the strain on the faucet fixture could damage or break it, possibly leaving a water cleanup mess. Also, when the hose is filled with water it stiffens up, if you take it around corners, it tends to grab those corners.

      by|May 5, 2023

A:  Sorry Melnor products are only designed for outdoor use with cold water. You would probably find something more suitable for indoor use in the plumbing department.

Q:I was told this item is no longer available in stores, to try to order it on line. But when I try to order it on line I get this message: Sorry, item is not available for delivery in this ZIP code. Enter a valid ZIP code or select another fulfillment method. Home Depot has the best price but I can't seem to be able to order it? Thank you CC

A:  Charles, I would go to your local Home Depot to the Pro Dept., These Guys and Gals are really up to date on what goes on. They will be happy to help you out, they were able to help me with some plywood that I had been unable to get. They got it for me, took a couple weeks, but I had been trying for about 3 or 4 months.

          by|May 5, 2023

A:  Sorry you are having this issue but we know of no restriction on 983-202? Can you try and have them send it to a store near you which Home Depot does for free? If that does not work use our contact page www.melnor.com//contact. Please put Ben in the subject line and I will help you get one.

          by|May 5, 2023

A:  Do not know what your problem is but I just bought one about two weeks ago on line without a problem. And yes their price is the best.

            by|May 5, 2023

A:  Home Depot likely dropped it from their product line. I personally had to throw mine away since it didn't last 6 months.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  Hi Charles sorry for getting back to you late. I can order one online with no problem. May I suggest calling Home Depot support or customer service.

Q:What size screws and anchors (if necessary) should be used to mount the storage rack?

                    Answer This Question

A:  We would recommend a #8 or #10 Wood Screw.

                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  I used 1 1/2” screws through the vinyl siding and into the wood sheeting. The screws that come with it were too small.

                      by|May 5, 2023

A:  Remember, the hose/rack will nearly double in weight once it's filled with water; so, if you'll be storing it that way, the mounting must support this downward [vertical] load.. But, there's going to be a more significant force on the mount coming from the lateral force of pulling. Sizing the screws for that will take care of the vertical load. My rack is screwed into pressure-treated 2X lumber; for that, three #8 x 1.5" screws [two at top and one at bottom] are more than ample. Since you ask about anchors, maybe you're thinking of going into brick/masonry? I'd use #8 x 2" screws and appropriately-sized anchors. Just make sure those anchors are designed for the 'pulling out' load [I'd use three anchors rated at 40# each or four anchors rated at 30# each].

Q:What is the water pressure burst rating?

                      Answer This Question

A:  I couldn't find that actual burst rating number but this hose is clearly stated as LIGHT duty and I can tell you from experience that it is very soft and flimsy when it's warm and stiff and brittle when it's cold.

                      by|May 4, 2023

A:  The burst pressure is 100 psi.

                      by|May 4, 2023

A:  Melnor products are designed for normal household use and water pressure which according to the United States Plumbing code is 20 to 80 PSI. We do however test our Coil Hose at 150 PSI for a duration of 5 minutes.

                        by|May 4, 2023

A:  The listed specs say 100 PSI.

                          by|May 4, 2023

A:  100 psi is what is stated. However I think you will find that not to hold up once the hose has been used any length of time. It is a great hose for off the house hose bib into the flower beds. Defiantly not a heavy duty one. Another factor is the weather elements. Here in Arizona nothing lasts in the sun. I am sure the same will be true for this hose if it is left out in the winter weather.
