A: It would water approximately 64' x 54'.
A: 3400 sq. ft. refers to the area covered by the spray. Example: with sufficient water pressure the sprinkler could send water 40 ft out and 40ft wide on each side of the sprinkler x 2 = 3200 square ft.
A: It has been a long time since the purchase and use. I believe that particular sprinkler does not have a hose connection on the end. I use the Y splitter connections to feed more than one sprinkler with one house connection. The limiting factor quickly becomes the volume of water available through the house connection.
A: At optimal conditions, it would be 69 length and 58 width.
A: The adjustment dial can be turned either way but it doesn't clearly say if water is straight up, side-to-side, or just 90 degrees. Instructions are lacking.
A: Mine turns both ways, but it's pretty hard to turn either way.
A: It can be turned either way.
A: You can adjust the dial in either direction.until it reaches the stop position
A: Clockwise
A: It can be changed either way. Works well.
A: either way
A: Clockwise or counter-clockwise both work well.
A: I have turned it both directions without problems but I do so with no water pressure on the sprinkler.
A: Dear Varughese: The adjustment dial can be turned in either direction, to the limit (of course). Melnor makes another sprinkler that is even better; you can adjust the width and length of the sprinkler pattern, on both sides. New sod was recently installed at our home and I purchased three of these sprinklers to cover the different sizes of the new lawn. They worked great. A: Hi Ron, On the Yellow dial there are 4 icons, like at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o[clock. This is the adjustment Looks like left or full or right etc. They're little squares indicating position of the spray. It clicks so it feels firm, but it is adjustable.
A: I turn water so I can see how much yard it will water and move oscillate to get the optimum amount of water coverage.
A: set the black plastic control at the middle position
A: The yellow dial will allow you to select option you want
A: The yellow knob rotates to allow for different settings
A: It does go 180 degrees The instructions on the bottom of the package and it’s clear I installed mine in 15 minutes
A: I had the same issue. After fooling around with it for a couple of days I took it back.
A: Dear Alan: A full 180 degree sweep would not be practical. Imagine the nozzles spraying water straight out to both sides; it wouldn't go very far with standard household water pressure. I recentlhy bought three of these Melnor sprinklers and they work great. The Rain Bird battery operated automatic sprinkler controller works with them off a standard garden spigot. A: Adjust the wand sweep setting
A: TURN THE YELLOW KNOB TO ADJUST SPRINKLER - KNOB HAS ICONS OF SETTING ON IT.
A: Yes. Its great and works well.
A: Dear WaysideSolid; That depends on your water pressure supply to the sprinkler, so you will need to buy a gauge and connect it inline to your hose to determine the answer. I hope this is helpful. Mark

A: It took about 45 minutes
A: One hour starting at 2am = 1 inch in the rain gauge with two sprinklers running at same time
A: 2 HOURS DEPENDING ON YOUR WATER PRESSURE.
A: Every time you are starting with a new sprinkler you should always for first time put down and spread out a few shallow cans , tuna cans work good or cat bowls. I spread out 6 that are 3/4" deep, time it and when the cans are filled you know the time .
A: You attach it to your unit.
A: There should be an inch wide yellow knob by the piece where the hose attaches. It controls the amount of time the water shoots to either side. The knob has square symbols on it that refer to what direction of your lawn it will spend more time watering. The other yellow knob on the outer edge is just a cleaning tool I believe. It pulls out and you can use in case your ports get clogged up.
A: Sounds like your sprinkler is broken. Have them take a look at it and they can verify this.
A: The sprinklers options work very well. I like that the sprinkler covers my entire front lawn. No problems or issues with this great new product.
A: It sounds like you might be missing a part. If you will contact us at 1-877-283-0697 we will be glad to take care of this matter for you. Melnor Inc.
A: STEADY WATER PRESSURE
A: It's a primitive rain gauge that can be used to measure the depth of water that the soil has received for a given period of time. (1/2 inch per hour, etc.) But be sure the sprinkler is on level ground or the readings may be wrong.
A: so you can measure how much water you put down 3/10 4/10th and so on..............
A: It’s so you know how much water has fallen on your lawn.
A: The gauge allows you to measure how much water is being applied to your lawn, equivalent to rain. That is, 1/2 inch in the guage is 1/2 inch of rain for that watering cycle.
A: Unscrew cap at the end of sprinkler. The tip on the end of the cap is used to unclog holes on the sprinkler.
A: At the end of your sprinkler is a end plug that you can remove and use to clean the nozzles on top of the sprinkler. Then you can flush the water through to clean out the debris..
A: The end cap of the sprinkler unscrews to reveal a spout cleaner.
A: At the end of the tube there is a yellow clear-out plug. Please unscrew it - use the tool to poke in the jets and then screw it back into the tube.
A: This has not happened to us with this specific sprinkler as we just purchased it. However, we have had this happen with our other sprinklers as they get clogged with calcium or lime deposits from our hard water.. In some cases we have used an upholstery needle to unclog the spouts. If all else fails, there are limescale eradication products available, most likely right at Home Depot. We have used limescale remover for buildup in sink faucets and it has worked on our clogged sprinklers. The trick is to remove the lime scale before it becomes too built up. If this is not the problem with your sprinkler, then it appears one of the spouts have failed and you should be able to get a refund or replacement. Even if you don't have your purchase receipt, I'd definitely go back to Home Depot . They have always honored our returns.
A: I love this sprinkler it my front lawn it’s about 30 feet by 40 feet
A: Try a paperclip or straight pin and push it through to clear clog
A: unscrew yellow nut on other end and has a built in tooth pick type thing to unclog the nozzle...................
A: This happened to mine, as well, after a few seasons. I cleared one by sticking a sewing needle into the end to clear the clog. Two others were clogged from calcium deposits (we have pretty hard water), which required me to soak them in CLR for a couple minutes, then used the needle to clear.
A: unscrew the opposite end where the hose comes in and theres a built in tooth pick to unplug the calcium that has clogged the spout............
