Q:Can someone help this non-tradesman new owner of a 100-year old colonial who is building his tool armada to attack the home's overdue update as well as go-forward general maintenance understand why I need both Impact tools? Won't 2854- do it all for me?

A: It's not, and I thought about screwing Packout feet to the bottom, but the issue is, the case is blow-molded and there's really not a solid surface to screw the feet in to. So my answer would be no.

A: I highly recommend investing in a hammer drill or a drill with a hammer mode in my experience the impact does work but not well using a normal drill would have the same effect more or less I melted a bit in just 3 holes cooling between each hole to ambiet

A: When I bought this, I of course had to use it right away (the included batteries were pretty much discharged) and the closest battery was a 4... Drove about 2 dozen screws before I noticed a definite drop off.

A: I've drilled through all kinds of material of various thickness/hardness. What it was really made for: I drove 15, 1/2 x 6" Tapcons through 2 pressure treated 2x6's, into a slab of concrete. Had to swap the battery once, but it did great.
