A:  Thank you for the question. Uncured sealant residue may be cleaned up immediately with mineral spirits or paint thinner, following the solvent manufacturer's precautions. Cured sealant must be carefully cut away with a sharp-edged tool.

A:  paint thinner/mineral spirits while still wet, it depends on the situation at hand, you can wait for it it cure and razor blade it off. I am referring mostly to edge caulking where you want/need a finished fillet joint. Hope this helps.

When using OSI QUAD MAX, best performance results are obtained when all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of old caulk, grease, dust, ice, snow, surface water, and other contaminants. A damp surface is acceptable, depending upon the surface substrate, however, dry is preferred for best results. On vertical surfaces, exposure to rain during cure typically won't be an issue, however, on horizontal surfaces, the product should be skinned over before exposing it to rain.

It is a high solid content product therefore it will have a higher viscosity than most sealants and typically requires a better-quality caulking gun with a high hand thrust ratio. The product does have a 24-month shelf life so it is possible you purchased a product close to expiration. If this is the situation it would be very difficult to extrude. Date codes are printed on the tube. Also, it is important that the tube opening be cut big enough and the foil seal is broken before reattaching the nozzle. The nozzle opening should be at least ¼ inch or larger. Hope this helps you.
