A:  If the garage doesn't have sunlight directed at the freezer it might be ok Az heat can be 114,in the summer. . I have the freezer on the porch some sunlight hits it in the morning. It can't take direct heat. I think it would be ok if the cover wasn't made out of glass.

A:  I'm not sure what you meant. But the slide door seal of this thing is totally garbage. Air leaks every where. Unable to stop the frost from building up. Up to the point that all baskets been freeze up, even after adding additional seal strips to all doors.
