A:  Thank you for reaching out with this question. While the transmitter itself will have a wire break alarm and be able to reach 25 acres. The main difference would be that the collar has a stronger correction level than the classic collar.

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out to us with this question, Rett. If there is an existing expansion joint, we recommend using a blunt tool to clear debris, and then run the wire through it. If there is no expansion joint, a circular saw may be used to a cut a path. Once the wire is placed, we'd recommend using a waterproof compound, such as caulk, to protect the wire from damage. Additional details about these steps can be found on our PetSafe website under our support articles.

Q:Can I run this in a straight line from one point to another? I just need to run in front of my gate so he will not follow our cars out when we leave.

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out to us with this question, Ryan. For the boundary wire to carry a signal you will need to make a complete 'loop.' Instead of running a single straight line, you'd need to make a "u-turn" and run the wire back to the transmitter at least 3 feet apart to avoid any signal inconsistencies. If you'd like help with planning a layout, please get in touch with us. We can be reached at 1-800-732-2677 between the hours of 8 AM - 7 PM ET Monday to Friday. We're happy to help you!

                Answer This Question

A:  This is a great question, Shawn! You may find it helpful to know that our In-Ground Fence™ systems send a signal out on both sides of the wire installed. Thus, if your dog were to leave their boundary they would receive a correction upon returning.

                    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for the great question! The "T" posts may cause an interference as well as the boundary wire being close to the barb wire. We do recommend that the boundary wire is roughly 5 to 10 feet away from the barb wire as it can cause activation and interference issues. However, if you do want to leave the boundary wire above ground, you can use yard staples to keep it in place.
