A: These brad nails are finishing nails. Used them for baseboard trim in the kids bedroom. I would suggest torque screws, especially for outdoor applications for your patio

A: You need to be more specific in what you are asking. If you mean a 3/4 inch 4/8 plywood panel, yes, but you need to use a lot of them if you want any structural support. However, they will hold it in place fine. If you mean tacking up something light, they will work fine.
Make sure you have the right depth for what you are trying to hold up. Further, make sure you are putting them in a beam. Remember, these are not designed to replace nails or screws. However, they do not create large holes either. I would not use them to frame a house or major support structures. They are what they are and to be used appropriately.
