Q:Can 90 degree bends be made? To be used to contain mulch around my house

Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, you can easily create a corner in one of two ways. You can cut the edging at the corner location and place a new piece of edging on the other side to create the corner, securing each tab closest to the angle with an anchoring spike. You can also allow the edging to warm and use the additional flexibility to make the continuous corner where you need it, anchoring the nearest tabs to the angle. Good luck with your project!

A:  Not really. I cut mine to fit corners.

A:  Hi Lisa, when trimming the grass around your plastic edging, we recommend only using a string trimmer. When used properly, the plastic edging can withstand a string trimmer for many years. We do not, however, recommend using a trimmer with a metal blade. Metal blades will cut the edging. Happy landscaping!

A:  It might depend on the ground or how much the edging sinks after pounding in the stakes. Mine measure about 2 and 1/4 above ground.

                by|Oct 6, 2021

A:  Hi Buck. The height of the scallops at the tallest point of the curve is 2 inches high.

A:  It should be bent in the direction of the stake holes that are pointed inward toward the area being protected. But you can bend it in any direction and making an "S" shape should not be a problem.

                    by|Aug 8, 2020

A:  Yes, the No-Dig Edgings can be curved in either direction to create various rounded shapes, including an "S". You may need to experiment with the anchoring spike placement to secure the desired curves the best. Additional anchoring spikes are available separately if you feel you will need extra anchoring support.

A:  Absolutely. Easily bends any way you want it.

Q:Can I use this to separate the mulched flower bed from the grass?

                      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Char, the edging is intended to create a nice separation between landscape beds and grass. However, it will not keep weeds and grass from growing into your garden beds, since it is not installed in the ground. If you need weed prevention, we recommend using weed fabric along with the edging.

A:  Yes, this is exactly how I used it. It is fairly easy to install once you have a sharp edge along the grass. Push the mulch about 8" back, lay your edging material down with the nail in edge facing the mulch. Use as many stakes as necessary to keep the Proflex flat to the ground. When finish, pull the mulch back toward the inside of the edging material. It will look great and make string trimming simple. You can buy extra nails at Home Depot (or order them on line). Good luck.

A:  You can but the base needs to be very flat because these tend to curl but it does work.

A:  We do not recommend this product as a paver restraint. It is not designed to support he weight of frequent traffic.

A:  Hi, this is farily hard vinyl and a simple hack saw cuts it best. Make sure you cut it in the sections indicated on the instructions so that you can nail the end pieces together for a continuous border, or just so you can have a nailed in piece at the end to hold it in place. Good luck.
