Please pay careful attention to the bulb manufacturer’s warning/caution statements on the packaging or printed on the lamp. For example, many CFL’s will indicate on the packaging that they cannot be used in an enclosed fixture or used with a dimmer. Thanks!

A:  That should depend on the bulb you use. The bulb it comes with is an awful yellow color and will turn your entire room yellow so you would probably want to buy a new bulb anyway and could just replace it with a dimmable bulb.

If using screw base LED or CFL bulbs please be sure the bulbs you purchase are listed as dimmable. You will also need to use a dimmer specified by that bulb manufacturer.
