          Answer This Question

A:  No, that is not the intended use of Anchoring Epoxy. It is meant for anchoring bolts, threaded rods and rebar dowels, pins and railings, into concrete and masonry substrates. Suitable for fastening in grout filled block and unreinforced masonry, and seismic anchoring and bracing. Please call 1-800-282-5828 with further questions regarding your project and we can help you select the correct product.

A:  High Strength Anchoring Epoxy is suitable for vertical or horizontal applications, including anchoring bolts, threaded rods and rebar dowels, pins and railings, into concrete and masonry substrates. I would not use this on a wood post and am not sure what the eagle is made out of. For further assistance with your specific project please call tech services at 1-800-282-5828

Q:When doweling CMU into concrete, what is the recommended hole clearance be? I.e. 1/2" rebar with a 5/8" hole?

              Answer This Question

A:  The hole diameter is recommended to be 3 times the size of the rebar. 1/2" rebar would need a 1.5" diameter hole. For further assistance please call technical services at 1-800-282-5828

              by|Jun 19, 2024

A:  The installation instructions say 1/8" clearance is fine in your application. Not sure what the Quikcrete rep was reading, but 3x diameter isn't normal.
