A: Hi Eddie. Rockwalls (if unsealed and absorbent) are fine for Classico Limewash®. However, it would NOT hold up in a shower or bathroom. The frequent wetting of the surface would prevent a good bond. The paint wouldn't last long at all.

Answer This Question
A: Classico Limewash® is for masonry surfaces both inside and outside the home. As long as your brick or stone is absorbent, it is fine to use. If you are looking for something to put on drywall, visit our website at romabio.com and look for the info on Velatura Mineralwash.

Q:Can this be applied with an airless paint sprayer?
by|Jul 10, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Absolutely. You'll need a sprayer with a minimum psi of 3000 and a tip with a .019" to .021" opening. Any smaller and the paint won't push through. The best results will be achieved when you also back brush it into the mortar joints and nooks & crannies in the brick. Also be sure to dampen the brick before using the sprayer to help draw the paint inside the surface which is critical.

A: Yes it can but since it is limewash we wanted a fuller coverage and opted to not thin it down that much and used mason brushes to paint the brick.

Q:Can this be used on the brick around a fireplace?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, but the brick needs to be free of soot.
Cleaning it with vinegar and water will make a world of difference.
And if you use it on the hearth, and people sit on the hearth from time to time, you will need to seal it with Mineral Shield also made by the same company.

Q:I have very smooth brick in good condition. If I rub my hand over the brick, you could barely tell it is porous. Will this still stick to that or do you need a bumpier brick face for it bind properly?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Dillon. The texture isn't as important as the absorbency. Spray it with water and see how quickly it soaks in. If it doesn't run down the wall at all, it's highly absorbent and will take the paint just fine.

Q:Is this tintable? I would like to have a dark grey, and everything offered is very light in color.
by|Jun 5, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Torri. Classico Limewash is tintable as long as oxide pigments are used. Due to the slaked lime, the base is very white, so Nube Gray would be the darkest it could be tinted. To go any darker you would need a paint that comes in a neutral or transparent base. Home Depot cannot tint Classico Limewash for you so to purchase here, you are limited to the colors shown.
