Q:Does this work with an Orbit timer? I was trying to screw the Rainbird backflow preventer onto the timer but it didn't seem to fit. Thank you.

A: This is 3/4" female hose thread, so should screw onto a matching male thread.

A: Do you have it on backwards? Never had an issue with it put mine on four years ago. Have changed the hose and it has worked fine.

Q:Are the female threads compatible with regular hose threads or are they those weirdly narrow threads like permanent brass backflow preventers? I will be attaching a watering timer to the hose bibb first, then the backflow preventer, then drip tubing. If I put the backflow preventer directly on the faucet and leave the water on (pending the timer), it will leak constantly due to the water pressure.

Q:Without a male to female adapter and then a female to male adapter, this won't work with a standard outdoor faucet or hose. It's backwards from an outdoor faucet, a standard hoses, a drip irrigation timer -- what am I missing? Is there a similar product that allows flow direction from the female end to the male end?

Answer This Question
A: The water goes in through the female side and out the male side. The female side screws onto a male hose bib, and the lock screw is tightened to lock it on. You then connect your hoses and whatever, with the female ends, to this device.
