A:  Hi MarkM and thank you for your question. The HOT and COLD water connections are clearly marked and are 3/4in. NPT on all models. The supply and outgoing lines will be sized by your installer / plumber.

A:  The upper element heats the top portion of the tank first. Once the top portion hits the set temp, power switches to the lower element. This supposedly more efficient than heating the whole tank from the bottom & reduces the amperage required.

A:  There are 2 options: if you want the most efficient, you have to run a 220/240 30A circuit to the WH location OR if you have a normal 110/120 outlet nearby, you can get a model with 120-Volt in its name. I don't believe the latter are as efficient.

A:  The answer is YES. It is removing heat from the room air and dumping cold air. It is also removing humidity. This is good in the summer, but not so much in the winter. You can add duct work to draw and dump air in different openly connected spaces.
