Q:The installation instructions refer to a “gripper” used to connect this upright to the rail, and the illustration shows an additional piece connecting the upright to the rail. I see no mention of the gripper in the product description. Can someone explain exactly how this upright connect to the rail? Is a gripper needed / how do I get a gripper?

A: Typically wire shelves are used with the uprights and brackets. I installed a set of Closetmaid brackets and shelves that I already had but Rubbermaid offers wire shelving as well.
