A:  Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard Fall Lawn Food is a granular fertilizer with a timed release of 6-8 weeks. It should be completely gone in 8 or 9 weeks. The slow release nutrients last 6 - 8 weeks. If the ground freezes and stays frozen the breakdown will take that much longer. Winterguard has extra potassium to help stimulate regrowth in the spring.

A:  This product in the Weed and Feed mixture will kill weeds..

A:  Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food is strictly a fertilizer therefore no weeds, insects, or disease would be controlled by this product.

A:  Thank you for your interest in our products. This product can be applied in the late fall or early winter, as long as the ground is NOT frozen. Do not apply this product to frozen ground.

A:  YES - I use Winterguard now and the Crabgrass Preventer around the end of March in Maryland. Get the Winterguard on the ground before it freezes Rich K

A:  St Augustine grass will go dormant when temps fall consistently below 80ºF, or when soil temps are below 55ºF, that your grass will go dormant and turn brown.

A:  Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard Fall Lawn Fertilizer can be used on all grass types. This product will feed your fescue, bluegrass and the bermuda grass.

A:  Pets such as cats and dogs should be removed from the area before applying Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard Fall Lawn Food. Both humans and animals may reenter immediately after application. While not necessary as an additional precaution water application area and allow it to dry before reentering.

Also, Winterguard Weed n Feed does not contain a weed preventer, only a weed killer. For weed prevention, we recommend applying Turf Builder Halts with Crabgrass Preventer in spring after the grass comes out of dormancy.
